Here's to the newlyweds!!!!

Sara and Jerwin - Wedding at West Point

I know I've said this like a thousand times this year...but I can't help it!!!! I simply adored working with this amazing military couple! Sara and Jerwin exchanged vows this past weekend on the beautiful West Point military campus. Their ceremony was in the Cadet Chapel and the reception followed at Highlands Country Club. We have such a deep admiration and respect for our service men and women. So when the couple contacted us from Iraq last year and asked us to help them plan and design their wedding we JUMPED at the opportunity! Guests flew in from all over the country to celebrate the day with Sara and Jerwin. Throughout the planning process the couple has served in Korea, Iraq and various areas in the Middle East. Communication was at times, very difficult, to say the least. But we managed to orchestrate a beautiful event for this outstanding and upstanding couple. Special thanks to our amazing vendors...Touch of Elegance, Infinity Entertainment, Jasmine Photography, Cam Turner Design, and Jeanine Mangan. Professional pics will be posted soon.

Sara and Jerwin...we proudly salute you and we were honored to be part of your wedding. Congrats!!!!!

New Press! BRIDES NEW JERSEY

We know how you love your bridal magazines! SO DO WE!!!! It's one of my personal guilty pleasures, that's for sure....

I especially love BRIDES Magazine...just always chock full of fresh ideas and killer fashions! Recently I had the pleasure of being interviewed for a new piece by the fabulous Kim Forrest from Brides NJ Magazine. The article (found in the Fall/Winter 09 issue) is about the art of negotiation when it comes to wedding planning. In this economy, brides have to try every method in order to stretch their wedding dollars. The article features some great tips from wedding professionals in the area.

I definitely recommend picking up a copy!

Combs For A Cure! Helping Raise Research Dollars For Breast Cancer

Once Again, Pink Comb Salon (owned and operated by our favorite wedding hair stylist Michelle LoConte) is holding their annual “Combs For A Cure.” The event will be Sunday, October 11 from 12-4 at the salon in Nutley New Jersey. We need your help!

They will be “raffling off” donations made by EVERYONE. They hope to get some press as well! Each donation will have a bowl next to it where attendants can “purchase” a ticket and try to “win” a price. All of the monies will go directly to the organization. Last year, they raised $1,287.00! Donations can be a gift certificate, a product, handmade jewelry, wedding related service, an arrangement of sorts, etc. etc. etc. any donation is graciously accepted! You do not need to be at the event in order to make the donation. They will take care of everything. They only ask that donations are made by October 4, 2009. Donations can be dropped off at the Salon in Nutley, NJ or they will be happy to come and pick them up.
