HI everyone!
PBW is in full prep mode for a weekend that is FULL of wedding fabulousness! We've got 3 weddings, yes 3, this weekend! Needless to say, we have been resting as much as we can for all that is to come!
PBW is all over the Garden State this weekend! On Saturday, Jenny and crew will be overseeing a LAVISH affair down the Shore at the Eagle Oaks Country Club that is sure to be AMAZING! PBW is pulling DOUBLE duty Sunday as our staff divides themselves between an elegant multi-cultural wedding in Weehawkin and an exquisitely lush event at The Brownstone in Patterson.
We are SO excited that these weddings are FINALLY here--lots of special touches and decadent details to tend to and we cannot wait to see it all come to life!
We hope you all have a wonderful, and SAFE Memorial Day Weekend!
xoxo,

Thoughts on the Bush Wedding...
As most of the free world knows, Miss Jenna Bush was married last Saturday. I was anxiously awaiting pics…as we planners just NEED to see the details, big and small. Much of what I have seen on TV has lent to the idea that is was a really fun and elegant country event. But then, I saw it… the photo released of the wedding cake. Go ahead and take a peek ..do you notice anything a little "off"?
Was this cake SUPPOSED to resemble a very famous tower in Italy?
Some things came to mind when I saw this. Who was the baker that could possibly let this happen at such a high-profile event? Now, the cake is very pretty and it had to have been done by someone "known" for their cakes. Even so, is that BUTTERCREAM I see?? On a cake..outdoors..in TEXAS??!! Hmm...it could very well be fondant, but the lean is lending me to assume that it was not.

Hmm...it could very well be fondant, but the lean is lending me to assume that it was not.
And if there was a wedding planner, which I am CERTAIN there was…he/she may not have been keeping an eye on it to ensure there was no "leanage". Even if the cake was mysteriously bumped, or the flowers weighed it down..it is certainly a wedding coordinator's many duties to keep a watchful eye on these types of details.
Now, this is not to suggest that the White House did not find a wonderful person to plan and execute a wonderfully charming event. I'm just using this small detail in a BIG (highly-publicized) wedding as a fantastic example in our arsenal of reasons why EVERY bride should have a wedding planner.
If nothing else…at least let this be a reminder to all brides out there that things happen at weddings that at times are uncontrollable. No event is ever perfect…but sometimes, these little "blemishes" are usually what make an event unique and they often contribute to some of the more memorable moments for the bride and groom. I mean, really…do the newlyweds even look like they even care about that cake?!
Much love and Happy Planning!

Melissa

A Groom That REALLY Wants to get Married!!!
Remember our bride and groom Katie and Anthony? Well, I think we may have failed to mention one of the "bumps" we encountered that day...could have been a downer, but all worked out in the end! Turns out that the chapel that was reserved for the wedding was LOCKED and none of us could get in! This is with MINUTES to go before ceremony was supposed to start! There was no one to reach out to to get keys--and we tried a lot of crazy things to get in there.
Then things got interesting...Anthony and his crew of groomsmen went into action and decided...Let's just break in! Here are some (looking back now, quite comical) pics from the scene...Thanks again to CLB Photography for capturing the "secret mission"!
Thankfully, the keys arrived JUST IN TIME! No broken windows or rigged up locks....just happy guests and a ever so calm groom waiting for his bride. We think the anxiousness was all out of him by the time Katie came down the aisle!
Definitely a wedding that won't be forgotten!
Enjoy your weekend!!

Beauty and glamour at the Westmount Country Club!
One of our favorite couples, Michele and Jonathan, were married on Saturday, May 3rd. High School sweethearts that decided it was time to make it official! It was an emotional ceremony followed by a simply stunning reception! The wedding was perfect, beautiful, glamorous, all across the board! We were so excited to be there!
Every detail was amazing, from the customized petal cones to the lush centerpieces. Take a look at some of the fun and fabulous decor--isn't that tree is amazing?! It was a total HIT...kudos to Jenny for designing it and to Matt at Atlas for bringing it to life! You guys really outdid yoursleves this time!
Special thanks to the Westmount for doing (as usual) a wonderful job. Other vendors to thank: St. Gabriels Church, Tom DiBella photography, Victor Orozco for the wedding favor portraits, Jackie for makeup and hair, Jason Craig Orchestras for music, NJ Limobus, Buddy from Carlos Bakery (did you see that cake?!), Matt and his team at Atlas Floral design and Jennifer at Jar of Ideas Design for all of the customized stationery.

2010 Weddings - We're booking - Wow!
We recently met with an adorable couple, Ashley and Anthony. I was originally reluctant to meet with them because their wedding was not until 2010. However, the lovely Ms. Newborn (an avid WWIIA viewer and fan) graciously persisted and I could not refuse her charm. I'm so glad I didn't wait!!! This couple marks a historical landmark for PBW. It is the first time we have agreed to work with a couple with over 2 years of planning to go! Personally I don't even know where I will be or what I'll be doing in 2010...but I think it's pretty safe to say that I will still be running PBW and loving every minute of it. Now, don't get me wrong...I'm not necessarily inviting all the lovely 2010 brides to call and book us... I assure you, there's plenty of time for that! But Ashley and Anthony were just too awesome to pass up. So we're booking them! It's cheezy I know, but I can't help but celebrate our first 2010 client. Here's to the happy couple! I'm glad you loved us...b/c we have ALOT of time to spend together!
ps. I don't usually take pics with my new clients, but the bride loves to scrapbook, take pics, etc. So I couldn't resist the offer to be photographed.
