Jenny and Melissa met Nicki and Mike on a slushy winter evening this past December. They hit it off with the couple INSTANTLY...as their enthusiasm for their quickly approaching wedding (and their insane love for each other) made them thristy to get started on their plans right away. PBW hit the ground running...and within a couple of months, a truly amazing design concept was born...infusing Nicki's love of the color purple, with Mike's desire to incorporate the popular black and white damask pattern in a funky and unique way. Adding in pops of fuschia made the palatte complete...but it didn't stop there! Instead of using one palatte throughout the space...we took specific elements of the wedding design to pop in other areas of the event..giving each area a distinct look that didn't take away from the amazing ballroom design.
The ceremony area was highlighted by a GORGEOUS chuppah...complete with hanging crystals, and suspended orchids and votives. The lucite top allowed for candles to sit right on top...so it was COMPLETELY framed in candlelight. Lisa and her team at A Touch of Elegance worked it out...so fantastic! The icing on the cake...an amazing customized aisle runner with the couple's monogram...provided by the wonderful people at The Original Runner Company (www.originalrunners.com)!
For cocktail hour, we used the black and white damask design and mixed it into a funky lounge area in the center of the tented area and decided to pop the design with lime green for a fresh, modern look. Some pops of fushia were brought into the unique escort card table design as well. The goal was to keep the guests intrigued...and boy, did it work...they had no idea what surprises were in store!
The ballroom...what can we say, truly SPECTACULAR! The design brought in all of our couple's desires...times ten! The design included 3 different centerpieces throughout the ballroom, with one centerpiece in particular that rocked Nicki and Mike's socks off when we revealed it to them a few weeks prior. A custom designed lampshade centerpiece, covered with black and white damask fabric and completely blinged out with hanging crytals...sitting atop a submerged orchid in a tall cylinder vase...and it actually lit up! Another masterpiece by Lisa and her team! Submerged orchid centers and a modern cluster of fuschia blooms rounded out the centerpiece designs. Beautiful linens (provided by our friends at BBJ Linen) in smoky purples and amythest looked great on the tables, as well as the beaded chargers by Party Rental Ltd (thanks Anne!).
Nicki and Mike were totally overwhelmed and amazed for their ballroom reveal...we can't completely divulge the sentiments of our groom, but it went along the lines of "Are you KIDDING me??!! ..I can't believe this!". Followed by our favorite thing in the world... our bride and groom attacking us with hugs and kisses ...THRILLED with what has come to life in front of their eyes! It was a great moment for Jenny, Melissa, and crew...we did it!
And the best was yet to come....to officially "kick off" the festivities..Nicki and Mike managed to keep mum about their surprise for their guests. Before we knew it...all of the terrace doors were opened and all of Nicki and Mike's guests were treated to a glorious fireworks display, completely choreographed (to a tee!) to music! All we could do was sit and stare up in awe of the 15 minute show. Lots of cheers...ooh and ahhs...and it was just the beginning of a wonderful night of celebration!
